Tutankhamun: Wonderful Things from the Pharaoh’s Tomb

Cabaret Night with Brenda Earle's Jazz Quartet

Live Jazz Performance Hours: 7 p.m. cocktails and an 8 p.m. performance Brenda Earle has performed at the Kennedy Center, the Ravinia festival in Chicago, the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, the Toronto Jazz Festiva,l and in clubs across the U.S. and Canada. She is a jazz vocalist/pianist/composer who draws inspiration from a myriad of influences, including songwriters Pete Yorn, Neil Finn, and Elvis Costello; classical composers such as Brahms and Whitacre; rock; and Brazilian music. The evening includes 7 p.m. cocktails and an 8 p.m. performance for $35.

Caloosahatchee River Roast & BBQ Festival

Bring the family for this tasty second annual event featuring barbecue with all the fixings, toe-tapping music, and fun contests for all ages. Airboat and buggy shows, live music, and hog-calling and apple pie contests take place throughout the weekend. Saturday’s fun runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and features a barbecue cook-off and awards ceremony. The good ol’ Cracker entertainment continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $5; children ages 10 and younger are admitted free-of-charge.

Haunted House

Do you dare to be scared? Enter the haunted house and board the haunted hay ride and you’ll see. Other activities include face-painting, a bounce house, music, and food. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. nightly. The haunted house opens at 6 p.m.; the haunted ride starts at dusk. Admission is $8 for adults, $4 for children ages 6 to 12.

Walk Through the Arts

Where: First Friday and Saturday of every month Alliance for the Arts , 10091 McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., galleries and other creative people and arts organizations are on display. This free family event includes artist demonstrations throughout the campus of the Alliance for the Arts, plus theatrical, musical, and dance troupe mini-performances in the Margaret Morrow Frizzel amphitheatre. There will be a kid’s tent for hands-on art activities, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Admission is free.
