Stone Crab Season
When: Jan 1 - May 15, 2010

Those succulent claws, brought to shore fresh daily from the waters surrounding the Florida Keys, will drip with mustard dip on the chins of hungry locals and visitors.

Florida Keys Watercolor Society's 28th Annual Judged Exhibition
When: Mar 4 - April 4, 2010

On display before the curtain and during the intermissions of the Marathon Community Theatre's production of "Guys and Dolls," viewing is also to be available 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily through April 4, with an artist member of the society there to welcome you. Art work is for sale with partial proceeds benefiting the MCT as a gesture of "Artists Helping The Arts." No admission fee. Located at mile marker 49.5 ocean side.

13th Annual Taste of the Islands
When: Mar 21, 2010 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Celebrate local flavors and family fun at the culinary challenge hosted every year at the Key Colony Beach City Park, from noon to 4 p.m. Vendors, food, beverages and live, local "fashions" show complement a silent auction and afternoon of entertainment. Admission fee, all proceeds benefit local scholarship programs.

April - 2010

Marathon Boat Show
When: April 24 - 25, 2010

The first annual boat show is to feature new and used boats, personal water-craft, ATVs, motorcycles, cars, trucks, SUV and electric vehicles on display. Also activities for the kids, food, drinks plus a live band on Saturday. Free admission. Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

June - 2010

Burdines Waterfront Dolphin & Blackfin Fun Fishing
When: June 25 - 27, 2010

This event sponsored by a popular local restaurant targets two of the finest tasting fish in the Keys.

Conchtoberfest
When: Sept 13 - 19, 2010

An inaugural middle Keys event that is expected to be chock full of food, beverage, vendors, music and entertainment for the entire family. Located at Hawks Cay Resort, open to the public. More details to follow.

Marathon International Bonefish Tournament
When: Sept 16 - 19, 2010

Some of the world's best bonefish anglers come to stalk the gray ghost of the flats. This is an all-release spin or fly event.

Florida Keys Birding & Wildlife Festival
When: Sept 22 - 26, 2010

The peak of the fall birding season, this event includes an opening reception, dinner, presentations, Keys-wide field trips focusing on education and conservation as they relate to Keys birds and wildlife, and an environmental fair.

October - 2010

Marathon Inshore Flats Tournament - Bonefish Series
When: Oct 8 - 9, 2010

This "flats series" tournament consists of three parts during the best times of year to fish each species: permit (March 12-13), tarpon (May 28-29) and bonefish (Oct. 8-9). Each part pays out $3k for the two-angler team with the most combined points, second and third place. In addition to cash prizes the tournament raises money for local scholarships. Limited entry of 35 boats, first come first served.

Bubbafest Bike Fest Tours
