Candlelight Tours

Where: Fort Barrancas, Pensacola Naval Air Station

Reservations needed.

Costumed interpreters will present the history of Pensacola during the Civil War at different stations inside Fort Barrancas. Groups of 30 visitors will depart the Fort Barrancas Visitor Center every 15 minutes for the hour-long tour. Although the fort will be lighted with candles, flashlights are allowed. The entrance to the fort includes a steep 90-yard walkway and visitors must use narrow staircases to access different fort levels. Dress appropriately for the evening weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Parking is limited so car-pooling is recommended. Visitors should enter the Naval Air Station through the main gate on Navy Boulevard.

Krewe of Wrecks Mardi Gras Parade

Smokin' In The Square BBQ Cookoff

Professional barbecue teams from around the U.S. will gather to compete at the first barbecue contest locally to be sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KSBS). Professional teams will be competing for prize money and points. Local barbecue enthusiasts also will be competing for prize money and bragging rights in the Backyard competition.
