Hey Boy II Charters provides private deep-sea and reef fishing excursions launching from Zeke’s Landing Marina in Orange Beach, Alabama. Managed by Captain Zack Gilbert, a professional guide since 2008, the charters take place aboard a 36-foot Topaz sportfishing vessel powered by twin 300-horsepower Cummins diesel engines. Booking selections range from 4-hour nearshore trolling trips to 5- or 6-hour bottom fishing trips, as well as extended 8- to 12-hour offshore combination excursions. The boat features an air-conditioned cabin, a full restroom (head), a microwave, a refrigerator, a Big Green Egg grill, and a maximum capacity of six passengers.
The charter targets seasonal migratory and reef fish throughout the state and federal waters of the Alabama Gulf Coast. Depending on trip length, techniques include heavy tackle bottom fishing, trolling, and jigging to target red snapper, vermilion snapper, lane snapper, gray triggerfish, gag grouper, amberjack, cobia, king mackerel, and Spanish mackerel. The standard rate covers all fishing rods, reels, tackle, live or frozen bait, and mandatory Alabama recreational fishing licenses. Dockside catch cleaning and filleting services are managed at the marina by the first mate for a fee of 30 cents per pound. Passengers are responsible for bringing their own food and beverages (no glass bottles allowed).
