DOGS FOR DOGS AT BAY POINT MARINA

Who let the dogs out? Bay Point Marina, that's who! The second Friday of every month we will celebrate our 4-legged children, so bring your dogs! We will have animals for adoption. St Andrews Mardi Gras Festival

This year we will have a two day Festival in the Oak's by the Bay Park, with food/drink vendors, kid rides, live music and great bands performing both days and nights.

February 10th ~ Kids Parade & Mardi Gras Pet Parade; 4:00 PM. KidsParade will be down Beck Avenue from 15th Street to 11th Street, kids throwing to other kids along the route (beads, stuffed animals, toys and more). Adults are asked to stand back and let the younger ones have their chance at some Mardi Gras style fun.

February 11th ~ Mardi Gras Annual Grande Parade; 1:00 PM. There will be over 14 Krewes with more than 20 brightly colored floats Starting at Oakland Terrace Park,down 11th to Beck and Beck to 15th. There will be beads, doubloons, and other unique treasures to catch. This is the Grand Finale parade for Bay County's Mardi Gras Season.

Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra

Established in 1954, the Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra is widely embraced for its diverse repertoire, which spans various musical eras from Baroque to Contemporary. Called “first-rate and “excellent” by Gramaphone magazine, the Polish orchestra was awarded a Gold disc for its recording Symphonically Perfect. The evening, headed by acclaimed conductor Jacek Kaspszyk and award winning cello soloist Maciej Mlodawski, will feature a program including Dvorak’s 7th Symphony in D minor and Dvorak’s cello concerto in D Minor.

The Orchestra performs regularly presenting around 100 programmes per season. Its repertoire is exceptionally varied. The orchestra has given performances in renowned concert hall throughout the world as well as a concert in New York’s St. Patrick Cathedral in memory of Pope John Paul II.

Welcome to the Annual Gulf Coast Triathlon (GCT)! What began as an economic development idea has grown into the best long-course triathlon in the Southeast. Each year, 1500 triathletes converge on Panama City Beach and test their strength with a 1.2 mile swim in the Gulf of Mexico, 56 mile bike through Bay County, and a 13.1 mile run in residential neighborhoods in PCB.

The GCT is proud to be the Southeast's premier destination triathlon! Held every Mothers' Day weekend, the Gulf Coast Triathlon is the US' oldest not-for-profit triathlon. Since 1983, we have provided the triathlon community with a world-class event. Since our founding we have led the Bay County community in promoting health and wellness for the youth of the area.

The Leukemia Cup Regatta is a series of events held throughout the country. Since its inception, the sailing community has raised millions of dollars to support the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through this event.

FURRY FRIEND FUN DAY & 5K

5K for all ages with/without your pet

The Humane Society of Bay County’s (HSBC) Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers are gearing up for the annual Furry Friend Fun Day & 5K. It will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. HSBC has designated Sunday, May 27, 2012, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., as a rain date in the event of inclement weather on Saturday. Fun Day Admission is $5 (which includes admission in the 1K and access in the activity zone.

This will be fun-filled event with a full 5K for all ages with/without your pet, Kids Fun Walk/Run, plenty of kid's games & activities, entertainment, food, pet adoptions, micro-chipping, dog rally, meet the breeds event, and most of all fun for the whole family. This will be a fun race but it will also be timed by a professional timing coming to help secure pro athletes and runners in the community. Registration on the day of will be from 7:30am-8:30am and the race will start around 9am.

PICNIC WITH YOUR POOCH

Sign up for "Picnic with Your Pooch" at Shell Island, this Memorial Day weekend. Dog-friendly cruises will begin from the Shrimp Boat Restaurant in St. Andrews at 9:00am and end back there at 12:00 noon.

The round-trip fare is FREE for dogs and kids, but there is a $25 baggage and handling charge for each adult human companion. Hot dogs, water and soft drinks will be provided on the island. Reservations required and space is limited.
