When: Mar 21, 2010

This year's Azalea Trail on March 21 promises to be bigger and better than before. Steere encourages girls to embrace their feminine side if only for one day. Southern belles might breech the event to get their girlie girl on, but they can be awarded in scholarship money for strapping on their feminine guiles. Participants must be 15 to 18 years old and exemplify the traditions of the Azalea Trail Queen. In the second round of competition, the girls are asked more rigorous questions to uncover their innate character and then five finalists vie for the crown of Azalea Queen.

July - 2010

27th Annual Billfish Tournament
When: July 14 - 18, 2010

The Gulf Coast’s premier Billfish tournament, the Invitational is known for big fish, big crowds and big parties, and 2010 is no exception. With a well-deserved reputation for innovation, Bay Point pushes the envelope again this year with some exciting changes. Times are tight, and we feel your pain. With this in mind, the Tournament has reduced entry fees for the second year in a row, dropping from $8,500 in 2008 to only $5,000 in 2010! Think of it this way - you can save $3,500 and still go fishing! But that’s not all. We’re also giving participants more options by adding a Weighed Swordfish Division. Anglers will be able to “Opt-In” to the Swordfish Division for an additional $1,000. Similar to our other divisions, Weighed Swordfish will payout to the top three participating anglers, and is open to Optional Entries. Perhaps the biggest news of all, though, is the return of Weighed Blue Marlin to the top of the leaderboard. That’s right, we’ll once again struggle to hoist a big blue up in front of a crowd of thousands, and we’ll crown a lucky angler with the title of Tournament Champion.
