Ancient Egypt--Art and Magic: Treasures from the Fondation Gandur pour l'Art brings to life one of the world's greatest civilizations. The exhibition of 100 stellar works features mummy cases, tomb and temple reliefs, papyrus fragments, alabaster vessels, and rare objects comprised of precious stones. The show spotlights the spiritual qualities of the works, as well as their technical mastery. This is the American premiere of one of the most distinguished private collections of antiquities, established by Jean Claude Gandur and headquartered in Geneva. The internationally respected Egyptologist Dr. Robert Steven Bianchi is the guest curator.

Big East - Big Ten Baseball Challenge

When: Feb 17 - 19, 2012
Where: Bright House Field, Florida Auto Exchange/Al Lang/Jack Russell/Walter Fuller Stadiums, 601 N. Old Coachman Rd., Clearwater

The Big East and Big Ten conferences, in conjunction with the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Sports Commission released the schedule for the Big East/Big Ten Baseball Challenge. The 2012 Challenge will feature eight teams from each conference playing in 30 games over three days to open the college baseball season from Feb. 17-19. The event will be played at current and former Major League facilities in the St. Pete/Clearwater area, including Bright House Field and Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, the spring homes of the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays, respectively. Games will also be played at Clearwater's Jack Russell Memorial Stadium, and St. Petersburg's Al Lang Field and the Walter Fuller Baseball (Naimoli) Complex.

Knology Clearwater Sea Blues Festival

2012 Honda Grand Prix St Petersburg

The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg returns in March, with the famed IndyCar Series auto racing. Drivers will race at speeds in excess of 170 mph along a 14-turn, 1.8-mile temporary circuit that runs through the streets of St. Petersburg and through the Albert Whitted Airport, overlooking the picturesque St. Petersburg waterfront. This is a one-of-a-kind event for the Tampa Bay area and the entire southeast United States.

4th of July Extravaganza

The 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year, but that won't stop The Pier from celebrating Independence Day for our country! The day will include music, entertrainers, characters, dancing and more. ALL events and activities are FREE, except for the face painters, who will charge a nominal fee based on design and complexity. Of course, at 9:00 p.m. there will be FIREWORKS presented by the City of St. Petersburg!
