Bellingrath Gardens Magic Christmas in Lights Dazzles Visitors
More than three million lights will illuminate the skies over Bellingrath Gardens and Home as the Theodore, Alabama, estate celebrates its 21st annual Magic Christmas in Lights. The show, which starts November 25 and runs through December 31, includes some 1,000 displays throughout the 65-acre property. Indeed, so dazzling is this show that USA Today recently ranked it in its list of the Top 10 Public Light Displays in the country.
The English Renaissance-style Bellingrath mansion will be dressed for the holidays as well with poinsettias, twinkling lights, Christmas trees, and magnificent arrangements of seasonal greenery. Sunday through Thursday, nightly choral performances will be held on the home’s South Terrace.
Guests can buy hot chocolate on Live Oak Plaza and shop for Christmas presents in the estate’s well-stocked gift shop. And the on-site Magnolia Cafe will be serving dinner, with a different special – an entree, soup or salad, and dessert – offered daily. A kid-friendly meal will also be available each day.
