HarborWalk Village's 2nd Annual MARDI GRAS MADNESS!

Laissez les bons temps rouler! Let the good times roll at the second annual “Mardi Gras Parade on the Harbor” Saturday, The festive parade will make its way down the Destin harbor and through the crowds at the party-filled village. The finale is a post parade party, zydeco jam and award celebration. The crowds can mix it up with a high octane Hurricane at Jesters, sample tasty Creole cooking at Crazy Lobster, and dance to authentic Zydeco by Terry and the Zydeco Bad Boys in the HarborWalk Village’s amphitheater. The Dent Bros and New Orleans Ramblers will lead the procession of colorful and outrageous floats of all shapes and sizes. You’ll experience Louisiana-like revelry at the largest and most vibrant celebration this side of Bourbon Street. HarborWalk Village welcomes the public and is now recruiting individuals, civic organizations, community groups and Mardi Gras Krewe’s to participate in this exciting parade. Entries for the event will participate in a contest with awards going to the top entries. The best overall float will receive a luxurious 3-night stay at the Emerald Grande at HarborWalk Village. The community based parade is open to the public and will accept entries that roll, float, pedal, and push. From golf carts and go-carts to shopping carts- all are welcome. The event is part of the HarborWalk Village Mardi Gras Celebration on the Harbor. 99 Rock and HarborWalk Village are having a Craziest Krewe contest. Winners can ride with colorful radio personalities in the Mardi Gras Parade on February 13, 2010. Contestants can enter by posting their Craziest Krewe Photo on Facebook or by emailing info@harborwalkvillage-destin.com. Please join us for the 7th annual Mystic Krewe of Arfeous Mardi Gras dog parade! The 2009 parade is themed “Bite at the Museum”. The streets will be filled with costumed dogs and their humans throwing a myriad of throws, beads, and parade favors. Themed convertibles, small floats (especially pulled by masters), golf carts, bicycles, and decorated wagons will be everywhere and Mardi Gras music will fill the air! Village of Baytowne Wharf Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade

Prepare to let your hair down on what many call the most festive day of the year, Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. “Laissez les bon temps rouler” (let the good times roll) with the 8th annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade rolling through Sandestin. Yell “throw me something mister” as unique and colorful floats, golf carts, and pick-up trucks roll down the streets and marchers dressed up in all their Mardi Gras best shower parade-goers with a barrage of beads, moon pies, and other trinkets. The post-parade celebration continues into the night with street performers, “throws” tossed from balconies on Main St, and parties at various Baytowne establishments.
