The Island is populated with friendly, easygoing inhabitants. Winding streets are framed with lush tropical growth. Magnificent white sandy beaches overlook the enchanted Gulf of Mexico while sailboats drift along the coast. Families picnic along the bay or in Gulf front parks. The Island is convenient to Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Tampa and Orlando.
