Internationally acclaimed artists will flock to Cape San Blas for 10 days, beginning May 4, for the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air, America’s Great Paint-Out. Hailed as being among the most prestigious events of its kind, the paint-out features professional artists capturing scenes from Florida’s Forgotten Coast on canvas.

Celebrating Where You Live

This year’s theme of the Forgotten Coast en Plein Air Paint-Out celebrates the built environment of the Forgotten Coast, the places where people live and work. The artists will be showcasing streetscapes, architecture, active waterfronts, and historic lands and landmarks. They’ll be using an eclectic mix of styles and concepts to create memorable works destined to hang on your wall or prop on your mantel.

Ten Days of Art

Now in its second decade, the event offers a full palette of activities for both onlookers and participants. Live art demonstrations, showcases of student work, artist receptions, distinguished guest speakers, lunch-and-learns, a collector’s forum, and the highly touted Grand Patron’s Party offer something for everyone, from casual visitors to artists and collectors. Local youth enjoy one-on-one instruction from the artists, enabling them to create their own masterpieces for viewing in the Wetroom. Students are supplied with a canvas, paints, and brushes and allowed to choose their own subject. You’ll be amazed by the talent!

Small Painting Sunday

Bidding farewell at the end of the event, artists market their smaller art formats in the Wetroom with excellent prices to fit any budget.
