Bait House Charters is operated by the experienced duo of Captain Brad and Captain Luke, who collectively bring more than a decade of professional guiding knowledge to the Clearwater Beach angling scene. Catering to both inshore trips and deep-sea adventures, the charter runs a versatile two-boat fleet designed to handle different aquatic environments. For backcountry, flats, and shallow nearshore excursions, guests step aboard a nimble 22-foot Dusky center console equipped with a wireless trolling motor, a livewell, and a quiet layout perfect for sneaking up on cautious fish. For hardcore offshore treks, the company utilizes a heavy-duty 33-foot Dusky center console powered by twin 300-horsepower Suzuki outboard engines, fully rigged with outriggers, a robust radar system, an EPIRB emergency beacon, and advanced fish-finding electronics.
The company offers an array of trips that span from four hour half-days to intensive eight and ten hour marathon runs that venture up to 100 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico. Anglers fishing the shallow flats routinely target prized local sport fish such as snook, redfish, and spotted seatrout, alongside specialized seasonal trips for massive tarpon from May through July. Out on the deep offshore reefs and wrecks, the target list shifts to bottom dwellers like gag grouper, red snapper, amberjack, and highly sought-after hogfish, as well as surface-trolling for pelagic species like king mackerel. The captains also run dedicated five-hour shark fishing trips and targeted goliath grouper excursions designed to test any angler's strength.
Operating directly out of the historic Clearwater Beach Marina at 45 Causeway Boulevard, the boats depart from the heart of the beach's premier boating hub. This ideal location sits directly alongside the famous Bait House Tackle & Tavern allowing guests to grab a fresh meal or drinks right at the docks. Bait House Charters runs as a private, all-inclusive experience, meaning every trip covers all top-tier rods and reels (featuring Seeker rods and Siegler reels), live or artificial bait, custom lures, and all required state-issued commercial fishing licenses. At the end of the day, Captain Brad, Captain Luke, or their first mate provide professional, complimentary fish cleaning and filleting, preparing your fresh catch to be bagged up or taken directly into the tavern to be cooked on-site.
