Captain Nick’s Fishing Charters provides private inshore, flats, and nearshore backcountry fishing trips throughout the Tampa Bay and Clearwater Intercoastal waterways. Guided by Captain Nick Halenkamp, a local USCG-licensed captain with more than 20 years of regional angling experience, excursions are customized for up to four passengers aboard a 22-foot Aguasport boat. The boat is outfitted with navigation electronics, a livewell, and a wireless trolling motor for shallow-water maneuverability. The charter supplies all fishing gear, including rods, reels, terminal tackle, artificial lures, and live bait, and also covers required Florida recreational saltwater fishing licenses for everyone onboard.
Trips cover the coastal flats, mangrove shorelines, and nearshore waters extending up to nine miles into the Gulf of Mexico. Anglers can utilize light spinning tackle or fly-fishing equipment to target regional species such as redfish, snook, speckled trout, black drum, sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, and jack crevalle. The company also coordinates seasonal six-hour tarpon excursions between May and mid-July to target the annual migration. At the conclusion of each trip, Captain Nick provides complimentary fish cleaning, filleting, and bagging services at the dock.
