Neptune Fishing Charters is owned and operated by Captain Jason Scripter, a true Clearwater native who has spent thousands of hours navigating the local waterways. After beginning his professional career at age 18 as a deckhand on local head boats, Captain Jason launched his independent charter utilizing a 22-foot Pathfinder bay boat. Powered by a 200-horsepower Yamaha outboard engine, the vessel features a specialized 10-foot custom scouting tower that gives the captain an elevated advantage when sight-fishing. The boat safely accommodates up to four passengers and comes fully rigged with a 9-inch Garmin navigation system, a Minn Kota iPilot trolling motor, dual live wells, and professional Shimano rod and reel setups.
Specializing in light-tackle inshore and nearshore excursions, Neptune Fishing Charters targets the region's top game fish and table fare. Anglers frequently chase the coveted Florida "inshore slam" by targeting snook, redfish, and spotted seatrout in the flats, while also targeting mangrove snapper, sheepshead, mackerel, and gag grouper up to 9 miles out in the Gulf. Captain Jason offers a flexible lineup of trips designed for all experience levels, including standard two, three, four, and six hour day charters. For guests looking to avoid midday boat traffic and summer heat, the company also provides specialized four- and six-hour night fishing excursions, as well as dedicated family-friendly trips and two-hour evening sunset cruises.
The charter operates out of the Seminole Street boat ramp area, with all trips departing directly from the docks at Wet Lines Bait and Tackle, located at 200 Seminole Street in Clearwater. This location provides convenient access to both the Intracoastal Waterway and the open Gulf. Neptune Fishing Charters operates as an all-inclusive private experience, covering all necessary high-quality bait, tackle, ice-filled coolers, and state-issued commercial fishing licenses for everyone on board. After returning to the docks, Captain Jason cleans, fillets, and bags the day's catch for guests to take home.
