Boca Grande, known as the tarpon fishing capital of the world, is a charming seaside village located on beautiful Gasparilla Island. Filled with historic charm and coastal scenery, the island offers a relaxing getaway with waterfront restaurants serving fresh seafood caught by local fishermen, unique boutiques, and local art galleries.
As you stroll down historic 5th Street or Palm Avenue, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Along the way, you’ll pass the famous Gasparilla Inn, a historic landmark that has welcomed visitors for more than 100 years.
Guests can rent bikes or golf carts to explore the southern tip of the island, where you can visit Gasparilla Island State Park and the historic Boca Grande Lighthouse, originally built in 1890. There is plenty to see, explore, and enjoy throughout this beautiful island destination.
Please note that golf cart rentals are currently very limited due to recent hurricane damage, and many carts have not yet been replaced. Downtown Boca Grande is approximately a three-block walk from the marina, so guests should plan accordingly.
Guests will enjoy a relaxing and scenic experience led by experienced local captains who know the surrounding waterways like the back of their hand. Friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, the crew shares local history, wildlife insight, and island stories while ensuring every guest has a safe and enjoyable experience.
