Tall Tails Guide Service, owned and operated by Captain Wes Landrum, provides guided saltwater and brackish water fishing charters throughout Apalachicola Bay, the Apalachicola River, and the nearshore waters surrounding St. George Island. The charter accommodates up to four passengers aboard a 22-foot center console vessel optimized for shallow-water maneuverability and bay stability. The boat is equipped with a GPS navigation system, a fishfinder, an ice box, and a wireless trolling motor for stealth approaches across the flats. All trips include Florida saltwater fishing licenses, spinning rods, reels, terminal tackle, live bait, and lures.
The service specializes in light-tackle techniques, including bottom fishing, drift fishing, popping, and jigging across grass flats, oyster bars, and river mouths. Anglers target a variety of native species based on seasonal availability, including redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead, tripletail, Spanish mackerel, and white seatrout. Trips are structured in four-hour half-day windows, available for both morning and sunset departures, as well as extended six-hour bay itineraries.
