The sun shines most of the time on the communities dotting Northwest Florida’s Highway 30-A, and that means just about any day is a good one for playing golf. Nearly a dozen excellent courses are within a short drive of any one of the area’s 15 towns, collectively known as the Beaches of South Walton.
Designed by golf course greats such as Tom Fazio and Jack Nicklaus, these courses provide challenges for golfers of all skill levels. They also offer scenery that can’t help vying with the game – pine forests, saltwater marshes, ponds, lakes, streams, and, of course, the white-sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.
Golf packages are available through the courses and through local resorts. Package deals may include everything from green fees and cart rental to rooms and meals.

One of the top big-game fishing tournaments in the world, this year’s competition is scheduled for June 20-24 in Destin, Florida. Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the host facility for this five-day sporting event with a nearly $2 million purse.
From ArtsQuest to Digital Gaffiti to First Friday Art Walks, there's an art show or festival going on just about year round on Hwy 30a.
